1. ABOUT THIS NOTICE
This notice explains how The Biggest Ego handles information when you visit the website, submit a listing, purchase Ego, or contact us.
2. INFORMATION WE MAY PROCESS
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
- information you submit when creating a listing;
- company or project information displayed on the leaderboard;
- payment and transaction information relating to Ego purchases;
- messages you send to us;
- basic website analytics and technical information; and
- a browser identifier used by our public visitor counter.
3. PAYMENTS
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number on The Biggest Ego's website.
We may receive transaction information from Stripe, such as payment status, amount, transaction identifiers and information needed to deal with refunds, disputes or payment problems.
4. WEBSITE ANALYTICS
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand basic website usage, such as visits, page views and referral information. This helps us understand how the site is being used and improve it.
5. VISITOR COUNTER AND BROWSER STORAGE
The site uses browser local storage to assign a random identifier to a browser for the public visitor counter. This helps avoid counting every page refresh as a completely new visitor.
The identifier is not intended to identify you by name. Clearing your browser storage, using another browser or device, or using private browsing may result in a new identifier being created.
6. SUPABASE
We use Supabase to provide database and realtime functionality for the leaderboard, including listings, Ego scores and visitor/presence features.
7. WHY WE USE INFORMATION
We use information where reasonably necessary to:
- operate and secure The Biggest Ego;
- process purchases and update Ego scores;
- review and publish submitted listings;
- detect errors, abuse, fraud or duplicate transactions;
- respond to questions, corrections and removal requests;
- understand basic website usage; and
- comply with legal obligations.
8. SHARING AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
We use service providers including Stripe, Supabase and Vercel to operate the website and process payments. Information may be processed by those providers where necessary to provide their services.
We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
9. PUBLIC INFORMATION
The leaderboard is public. Information submitted for a listing may therefore be visible to anyone once the listing is approved.
Please do not submit private personal information as part of a company or project listing.
10. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including operating the leaderboard, handling transactions and disputes, maintaining appropriate records and complying with legal obligations.
11. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on applicable data-protection law and the circumstances, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction or deletion, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
You may contact us if you wish to exercise a data-protection right or have a question about how information is handled.
12. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Some of our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where applicable, such processing is subject to the safeguards required by data-protection law.
